At launch, the new PSVR PS5 headset could have access to a large library.
According to reports, the PSVR PS5 will be backwards compatible with current PSVR games.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners and The Persistence, both VR games, were announced earlier as part of the PS Plus games selection for November 2021. A brand marketing specialist who goes by TheNexus claimed in a post about the game lineup that all current PSVR titles will work with the next new-gen PSVR 2 device.
It’s probably best to take this with a grain of salt right now. Despite the fact that the brand marketing specialist is a confirmed ResetEra member who clearly knows what they’re talking about when it comes to the business side of games, there’s nothing to indicate that they’re a PlayStation-affiliated expert.
However, if the comment is correct, it’ll be a significant plus for current PSVR owners as well as the upcoming PSVR 2. Having games like Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, Statik, and Moss available from the start would be a huge incentive for new potential PSVR 2 buyers to purchase the headset.
What to expect for the new version of the PSVR?
We don’t know much about the new PSVR headset just now. When PlayStation first unveiled the new-gen VR headset earlier this year, they made it clear that it was still a long way off, and that it wouldn’t be available until at least 2022.
Later, PlayStation unveiled the PSVR 2’s completely revamped motion controllers, which will have adaptative triggers and haptic feedback at launch. The PSVR 2 may still be a long way off, but it’s shaping out to be an incredible piece of hardware.
